Hi there! I’m Wy, the heart and hands behind Wyshine Crochet.

If you had told me a few years ago that I’d be spending my days surrounded by colorful yarn and sketchbooks, I might not have believed you. My journey into the world of crochet didn't start in a classroom or through a family tradition - it started on a sunny day at a picnic.

The Spark that Changed Everything

I remember sitting on a picnic mat with a friend who had brought along some yarn and a hook. As we chatted and enjoyed the day, I watched in awe as she worked. By the time we were packing up, she had finished a tiny, adorable stuffed bunny. I was completely mesmerized. How could a simple string of yarn turn into something so full of life in just one afternoon?

That spark of curiosity led me to ask her for lessons. Two weeks later, after many tangled threads and "frogged" rows, I finally finished my very first teddy bear. From that moment, I was hooked. I spent the next year learning everything I could from my friend, YouTube tutorials, and online crochet communities.

From Learning to Creating: The "Enchanted Hybrids"

Eventually, I wanted more than just following patterns - I wanted to bring my own imagination to life. I discovered that my true passion lies in creating what I call "Enchanted Hybrids" - magical characters that combine the charm of animals with the beauty of nature.

In my world, you’ll find:

  • Sweet Fruit Spiders that are more cute than creepy.
  • Vibrant Flower Turtles blooming with color.
  • Seasonal Dragons that celebrate the holidays, from the spicy-sweet Gingerbread Dragon and the festive Tree Dragon to the romantic Cupid Dragon.

Spreading the Joy of Crochet

I began by gifting my designs to friends. Their feedback was my biggest encouragement; they loved my creativity and told me that my patterns were detailed and easy to follow. With their support, I started sharing my work on Facebook, Etsy, and Ravelry.

Now, I’ve built this website as my own little "crochet universe." It’s a place where I can share my passion and my stories with you.

Most of my designs are crafted for Intermediate crocheters who are looking for something unique, though I always make sure to include some beginner-friendly patterns too.

I pour my heart into making every pattern as clear and detailed as possible so you can enjoy a stress-free making process. However, I’m only human!
